ONE wedding and a birth!
Delivering a baby was the last
thing on Annette Soborowicz’s
mind when she arrived at the
church in Wisconsin, USA to
witness her daughter’s marriage.
But that’s exactly what
happened, when the celebrations
were interrupted by a frantic Ben
Sherwood, whose wife had
suddenly gone into full-on labour
nearby.
After failing to elicit a response
from a rather stunned police
officer, Ben rushed up to the
wedding party to ask if anyone
was a doctor.
Soborowicz, an emergency
room nurse by training, clad in a
formal peach dress and high
heels, responded to Ben’s
dilemma, dropping everything to
run over to Mrs. Sherwood and
help her deliver the baby, right
then and there!
Asked later as to how she felt,
Soborowicz told reporters that it
was a “wonderful day”.
COCKEREL prefers the fairer sex!
An Italian cockerel has stunned
the scientific community by
changing its gender from male to
female.
According to reports, the rooster
started his life as a full-blooded
male strutting his stuff amongst a
brood of hens on a Tuscany farm.
This however all changed after
a sudden fox raid of the coop
resulted in the annihilation of all
the farm’s hens.
Days later, the cockerel’s owner
discovered him laying eggs and
trying to hatch them.
Realising the gravity of the
situation the farmer called in
scientific experts from the UN,
who are now looking into the case.
The current theory is that the
cockerel may activated a hitherto
undiscovered species survival gene.
