A HOSPITAL in Canada is
planning a major menu makeover
after its senior executives ate food
from the wards for a week.
Dr Jack Kitts, ceo of Ottawa
Hospital, asked his management
team to eat three hospital meals
per day, after hearing complaints
from patients for years.
The move was revealed in
a response from Dr Kitts to a
patient who had written to him
saying the food was “appalling”.
“Thank you for raising
your concerns with me...our
management team has recently
eaten hospital food for a week
and agrees with your observation
that we need to improve the
presentation and taste,” he said.
It’s not a small task, with the
hospital making about a million
meals per year, but changes
include more salads, fresh
sandwich plates and less stews.

Peters also envisages an even
more radical future in which
patients could order a kind of
room service or even offer a
buffet option for those who are
ambulant.

brain to get high.
26-year-old Joshua Long
confessed to soaking cannabis in
the embalming liquid in order to
become intoxicated.
According to court records he
got the brain from his aunt, who
came across it in a Walmart bag
while she was cleaning out a
trailer.
Medical examiners have
determined that it was a real
brain, most likely a teaching
specimen, with the man now
facing charges of abusing a corpse.
