Pharmacist honesty.
An Albuquerque man who lost
his wallet full of cash and credit
cards for two months, has had it
returned to him fully intact as a
result of the trustworthiness of a
local pharmacist, according to a
report from KRQE-TV.
The owner of Sam’s Regent
Pharmacy found the wallet while
dining at a local restaurant last
week, and immediately alerted
the police who were able to
locate the owner.
Social media responded to the
news with a lot of faith in the
pharmacy profession, but serious
doubts about a restaurant that
doesn’t find a lost wallet on its
premises for two months.
As one commentator said,
“Time to fire the cleaning service”.
There’s really no end to the
things people will do to get high.
A New Zealand man from
the town of Nelson has been
arrested after purchasing about
10 kilograms of poppy seeds from
his local supermarket - but putting
them through the checkout as
linseeds which are about $2 per
kilo cheaper.
Bevan Marks was observed by
the retail operations manager at
the New World Vanguard Street
outlet filling bags with bulk poppy
seeds on a regular basis.
After watching him charge
them as the incorrect item, the
manager alerted the police.
Apparently the man thought
the poppy seeds could be used
for recreational purposes by
somehow pouring water through
them to extract an opium
derivative.
Marks appeared in court last
week where he pleaded guilty
to causing loss by deception and
was ordered to pay a $50 fine and
undertake 40 hours of community
service.
