Crestor battle over

The High Court yesterday agreed with a previous ruling that AstraZeneca’s patent for Crestor (rosuvastatin) lacks the necessary “inventive step,” bringing to an end a long-running court battle in which AZ has been attempting to block generic alternatives to the product. The court dismissed AZ’s appeal, with the generic suppliers likely to seek damages from the company.
