Adenuric (febuxostat) is a
potent, nonpurine, selective
inhibitor of xanthine oxidase
(XO) that prevents the normal
oxidation of purines to uric acid.
Adenuric is indicated in the
treatment of chronic symptomatic
hyperuricaemia in conditions
where urate deposition has
already occurred (gouty arthritis
and/or tophus formation) in adults
with gout. Adenuric is available as
